Luigia “Gina” Lollobrigida was an Italian politician, photojournalist, and actress. At the age of 18, Lollobrigida appeared in Eduardo Scarpetta’s comedy Santarellina at the Teatro della Concordia in Monte Castello di Vibio, the world’s smallest theatre all’italiana. Lollobrigida entered the Miss Italia pageant in 1947 and finished third, giving her national exposure.

Lollobrigida co-starred in Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell (1968) with Shelley Winters, Phil Silvers, Peter Lawford, and Telly Savalas. Lollobrigida received a Golden Globe nomination and a third David di Donatello Award for this role. Lollobrigida co-starred with Bob Hope in the comedy The Private Navy of Sgt. O’Farrell (1968) and accompanied Hope on his visits to military troops around the world.

Milko Skofic, a Yugoslav-born physician, became Gina Lollobrigida’s manager in 1949. Milko Skofic and Gina Lollobrigida married in1949. After separating in 1966, the couple divorced in 1971. Milko Jr. was their son.
