Ghanaian rapper OJ Blaq is dead

Andy Nii Akrashie, also known as OJ Blaq, was a musician and actor from Ghana.

Stakeholders in the entertainment industry and the Empowerment Worship Center, where he had been a junior pastor until his death, both corroborated the report.

Netizens have suggested that even though his death’s exact cause has not been determined, it’s possible that his kidney illness did not completely improve.

OJ Blaq underwent dialysis after receiving a renal ailment diagnosis in 2021.

Years later, he returned to being quite active and appeared to be fully recovered, but his abrupt weight reduction raised serious questions.

OJ Blaq was renowned for both his distinctive rhyming style and the social commentary he included in his music.

His most successful song, “Chale Wote,” which was playing on radio stations all across the nation in 2009, was produced by him.

He joined Lynxx Entertainment while the company was only getting started, when artists like Asem, Eazzy, and Richie Mensah were paving the way for future artists like MzVee, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, and others.

He was a well-known actor who appeared in a number of Ghanaian productions, including the renowned “Suncity” television series.

OJ Blaq turned to the things of God after experiencing kidney failure that nearly killed him.
