The Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas) has announced plans to conduct a scheduled maintenance shutdown of its Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and offshore gas export facilities from August 1 to August 17. This maintenance is crucial for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the company’s operations.
During the shutdown period, comprehensive inspections and necessary upgrades will be carried out to enhance the overall performance of the gas facilities. Ghana Gas has emphasized the importance of this process in identifying potential issues and implementing corrective measures.
As a result of the maintenance, there will be a lean gas supply from the Sankofa OCTP to the Takoradi Distribution Station (TDS). The company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, has assured stakeholders that every effort will be made to minimize the impact on gas supply by completing the maintenance within the specified timeframe.
Ghana Gas has also worked closely with its partners and stakeholders to mitigate the effects of the shutdown on the energy sector and the general public. While acknowledging the inconvenience this may cause, the company has highlighted the long-term benefits of maintaining a safe and reliable gas supply.
The temporary maintenance shutdown is part of Ghana Gas’s commitment to upholding high operational standards and preventing unexpected disruptions in its operations. By conducting routine maintenance, the company aims to ensure the continued safety and efficiency of its gas processing facilities.
