Popular YouTuber Hbomberguy, also known as Harry Brewis, has recently come under the spotlight for his in-depth video exposing alleged instances of plagiarism within the YouTube community.
With over 1.5 million subscribers, Hbomberguy is known for his critiques of conspiracy theories, pick-up artists, and anti-vaxxers.
In December 2023, Hbomberguy uploaded a nearly four-hour video highlighting the alleged plagiarism of popular YouTuber James Somerton.
James, who focuses on queer film theory and LGBT literature, was accused of plagiarizing LGBTQ+ writers and other content creators.
The video caused public backlash, leading James to delete most of his social media accounts and address the impact on his mental health in apology videos.
Born Harry Brewis in West Yorkshire, England, on September 19, 1992, Hbomberguy initially worked as an IT engineer before transitioning to a full-time YouTuber.
His most widely watched video, which garnered over 17 million views, addressed plagiarism within the YouTube community.
In addition to his content on YouTube, Hbomberguy has also raised over $347,000 for the British transgender charity organization, Mermaids, through a 57-hour live-stream of Donkey Kong 64.
Despite being associated with left-leaning content creators, Hbomberguy does not consider himself part of the BreadTube community.
