An internal investigation into the untimely death of Stacy Okyere, a first-year student at Aburi Girls Senior High School, has been launched by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

Apart from conducting an internal inquiry, GES has declared that it would work in conjunction with law enforcement organizations to guarantee an unbiased analysis of the incident’s circumstances.

On Monday, February 5, 2024, Stacy Okyere, who had been suffering from excruciating stomach problems, suddenly passed away.

She was allegedly accused of lying about being ill by the school nurse, who refused to give her medical assistance.

According to reports, Stacy was declared dead when she arrived at the hospital.

The family of Stacy has accused the school administration of incompetence, and the events leading up to her death have brought the institution under intense scrutiny and condemnation.

GES offered its sympathies to the lost family in a statement that was made public on Monday. It also acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and reaffirmed its commitment to finding the truth.
