Former Kotoko forward Frank Mbella encourages players to take responsibility and turn things around

Former Asante Kotoko striker Frank Etouga Mbella has urged his former teammates to step up and turn the club’s fortunes around as they continue to struggle in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors are currently sitting in 11th place in the league standings with just 33 points.

In the last seven games, Asante Kotoko has only managed to secure a single point, suffering six defeats in the process. This poor run of form has left fans disappointed and frustrated with the team’s performances.

Mbella, who now plays for El Gouna in Egypt, expressed his concern over Kotoko’s recent form and called on his former teammates to take responsibility for their performances. He stated, “I have been following Kotoko closely and it is clear that they are going through a rough patch. I want to encourage my former teammates to accept responsibility and work together to improve the situation.”

During his time with Asante Kotoko, Mbella was a key player for the team, scoring 21 goals to help them win the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title. The Cameroonian attacker then made a move to Egyptian side Al Masry before being loaned to El Gouna.

As Asante Kotoko continues to struggle in the league, fans will be hoping that Mbella’s words of encouragement will spur the team on to better performances in the remaining matches of the season.
