The Institute of Public Relations, Ghana (IPR) has announced the election of Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah as its new President. The election took place during the Institute’s 30th Annual General Meeting held in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Ms. Cobbah, a seasoned communication professional and Fellow, outlined her vision of fostering a strong professional community of excellence within IPR, Ghana. She expressed gratitude for being chosen to lead the Institute and promised to work closely with members to achieve their collective goals.
The newly elected executives of IPR, Ghana include Donald Gwira as Vice President, Solace A. M. Akomeah as Honorary Secretary, Abraham Otabil as Deputy Honorary Secretary, and Gabriel Nii Otu Ankrah as Treasurer. These individuals are expected to contribute to the growth and development of the Institute under Ms. Cobbah’s leadership.
The outgoing President, Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu, expressed confidence in the new executives’ ability to continue the Institute’s upward trajectory. The AGM and National Communications Summit, themed “PR Excellence in the Age of Misinformation, Disinformation, and Information Overload,” provided a platform for PR professionals to network and discuss innovative practices in the field.
Additionally, forty-seven practitioners were inducted as Associate and Accredited Members after completing their professional accreditation processes. The gathering of PR practitioners at the Summit and AGM underscored the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the industry.
