Former U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder has been making headlines recently for his advocacy work on behalf of voting rights and reform.

Holder, who served as Attorney General under President Barack Obama for close to a decade (8 years to be precise), has been working to combat voter suppression and gerrymandering across the country.

The 72-year-old  Holder has also been a vocal advocate for the For the People Act, a sweeping piece of voting rights and democracy reform legislation currently being debated in Congress.

The bill would expand access to voting, reduce the influence of money in politics, and establish new ethics rules for public officials.
