Former President John Dramani Mahama has once again criticized the current government, this time questioning why any ordinary Ghanaian would choose to vote for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
In a recent statement, Mahama highlighted what he described as the wasteful spending of government resources and the economic hardships faced by Ghanaians under the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration. He also pointed out the unrealistic promises made by the current government, which has resulted in massive debts for the country.
Mahama did not hold back in his criticism, mocking Vice President Dr. Bawumia for his previous comments on borrowing and spending. He also lamented the state of various sectors in the country, noting that state-owned enterprises that were profitable under the NDC administration are now operating at a loss.
Describing the Akufo-Addo government as “the biggest political scam in the history of the fourth republic,” Mahama accused the current administration of propagating “lies and deceit” to deceive Ghanaians into voting for them.
Despite his strong words, Mahama expressed surprise that some individuals would still consider voting for the NPP again, except for those who have benefited financially under the current government. However, he remains confident that the majority of Ghanaians have experienced a decline in their quality of life over the past seven and a half years and will choose to reject the NPP in the upcoming elections.
