Former GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, is confident about his chances of becoming the parliamentary candidate-elect for the Ejisu constituency in the upcoming NPP internal elections. The elections are scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 13.
Nyantakyi has been actively engaging with delegates in the constituency and stated that the majority of them are prepared to vote for him. He believes that his message, which focuses on addressing important issues affecting the constituency, has resonated well with the delegates.
Expressing his optimism, Nyantakyi stated, “My chances in the April 13 elections are looking very, very bright.” He also mentioned that his name recognition alone could potentially secure him the victory without the need for extensive campaigning.
The by-election for the Ejisu constituency was triggered by the passing of the MP for the area and deputy finance minister, John Ampotuah Kumah, on March 7. The Electoral Commission has set Tuesday, April 30, for the by-election to fill the vacant seat.
All nine aspirants who submitted their nomination forms have been cleared to contest in the upcoming elections. It is expected to be a keenly contested race with Nyantakyi expressing confidence in his chances of emerging as the parliamentary candidate for the Ejisu constituency.
