The trial of Mark Forson, the houseboy accused of the murder of Dr. Christopher Adu Boahen, the son of the late Professor Albert Adu Boahen, has been postponed until May 9, 2024.
The Kaneshie District Court handling the case was unable to proceed, leading to the rescheduling of the trial.
Forson, who is facing a murder charge, did not enter a plea during the court session, with the court opting to preserve his plea for a later date. The prosecution claims that the complainant, a surgeon at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and a friend of the deceased, reported that Forson was employed as the houseboy for the deceased.
On February 11, 2024, the complainant went to visit Dr. Christopher Adu Boahen and discovered his lifeless body in his room. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the deceased had a rope around his neck, indicating possible foul play. The complainant immediately reported the incident to the East Legon Police Station, leading to Forson’s subsequent arrest on March 14, 2024.
The prosecution continues to investigate the case to uncover more details surrounding the murder of Dr. Christopher Adu Boahen. The body of the deceased has been taken to the Police Hospital Morgue for autopsy and preservation as the legal proceedings unfold.
