Actress and singer Lucie Désirée Arnaz was born in the United States on July 17, 1951. She is the daughter of the performers’ Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball.
Arnaz made her acting debut in a recurring part in the series Here’s Lucy from 1968 to 1974 after appearing in walk-on appearances on her mother’s television show The Lucy Show. She portrayed Kim Carter, the child of the titular Lucy, who was portrayed by Lucille Ball, Arnaz’s real-life mother.
Starting in the middle of the 1970s, Arnaz began to take on television jobs apart from her family. She appeared as the murder victim Elizabeth Short in the 1975 NBC telefilm Who Is the Black Dahlia? and co-starred in Welcome to the “World” with Lyle Waggoner and Tommy Tune.
The Lucie Arnaz Show, a short-lived television program that Arnaz produced, debuted on CBS in 1985. The psychologist Miss Arnaz, who not only publishes an advice column but also takes calls from listeners on her own radio program, was referred to as “the always ingratiating Miss Arnaz” by the show’s critic for The New York Times.
