Be calm. Don’t give room for fights.

In recent posts I’ve mentioned the importance of consistent discipline when it comes to effective and healthy relationships. Don’t get me wrong – Discipline here excludes physical or verbal assaults. One of the most important things to remember about discipline is that it must be done in love.

At this point, we need to remember that discipline is something we do for our partners, and not just to them. It should never give us emotional satisfaction or satisfy our need for revenge.

How do you then discipline your partner?

The best answer to this is LOVE. Love conquers all wrongs and causes growth within the two. You may struggle to exercise this practically in the initial stages but once you get yourselves to understand what you have, it will flow in by itself.

“Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.” – Proverbs 15:32

So just go ahead and play your part, it may one day be necessary to finally leave the scene. Above all, let love lead. Always!
