On October 23, 1959, Alfred Matthew “Weird Al” Yankovic was born in the United States. He is a singer, musician, songwriter, record producer, actor, and author. In the United States, in the city of Downey, California, was born Alfred Matthew Yankovic. The only child of Mary Elizabeth and Nicholas Yankovic is Weird Al. Weird Al grew raised in the nearby Californian city of Lynwood.
He is renowned for writing humorous songs that parody pop culture and frequently cover songs by modern musicians. He also performs polka medleys of a number of well-known songs in addition to original compositions that are style parodies of the music of other artists. In the majority of these songs, he performs his distinctive accordion.
In 1985, Yankovic co-wrote and appeared in The Compleat Al, a mockumentary about his life that blended fact and fantasy. It was a parody of the film The Compleat Beatles from 1982. The movie also included a few clips from Yankovic’s trip to Japan and the Al TV specials.
The Whole Al was co-directed by Jay Levey; four years later, he would go on to direct UHF. The Compleat Al was released around the same time as The Authorized Al, a biography based on the film. The book had pages like a scrapbook and was full of funny actual and made-up pictures and documents.
