Ted Turner admitted to taking the medicine lithium for a time, but claims it had no effect on him.
However, during their epic war of words, his opponent Rupert Murdoch questioned his sanity.
Did Ted Turner take lithium?
Murdoch’s newspapers were vicious in their attacks on Turner, labeling him insane. Turner believes Murdoch was followed by investigators at times. “At least, I believe he did. I never had any evidence of that.”
Turner used to feel Murdoch was the most dangerous man in the world, but he no longer does.
“I believe George Bush is the most dangerous man on the planet,” he declares.
“I’ve reached an agreement with Rupert. A few months back, we had lunch together. There is no one I dislike anymore.”
For about two and a half years, Turner lost roughly $10 million each day.
When Safer asks if he has ever contemplated leaving this, he says, “But my children were all in the stock, as were the majority of my friends.
So I sat there obediently and followed everyone else into the drain.”
