
On April 21, 1997, DeShon Elliott—a free safety for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League—was born. The Baltimore Ravens selected him out of Texas’ NCAA football program in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
At Rockwall-Heath High School in Heath, Texas, Elliott participated in high school football. He pledged to attend the University of Texas and play collegiate football there.
Elliott was taken 190th overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was placed on injured reserve on August 31, 2018, with a fractured forearm.
Due to a knee injury, Elliott was placed on injured reserve on October 15, 2019.
Elliott was compelled to take the starting safety job after Earl Thomas was let go on August 23. Elliott had been anticipated to serve as the backup safety for the 2020 campaign.
Elliott sacked quarterback Deshaun Watson in Week 2 as the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Houston Texans 33-16. It was Elliott’s first career sack. He was added to the reserve/COVID-19 list by the team on November 3, 2020, and he was activated four days later.
