The Deputy Majority Leader, Patricia Appiagyei, has expressed her disappointment at the increasing congestion in the Central Business District (CBD) of Adum in Kumasi, describing it as a display of indiscipline.

She pointed out that the fear of losing elections is hindering the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) from enforcing by-laws to clear the CBD of traders conducting businesses in unauthorized areas.

During an interview on GhanAkoma with Kofi Asante, Mrs. Patricia Appiagyei, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Asokwa, urged the city authorities to take action and enforce the by-laws to address the issue of congestion.

The Deputy Majority Leader highlighted her concerns about the growing indiscipline among traders in the CBD of Adum, with hawkers invading the pavements, blocking streets, and causing disruptions to both human and vehicular traffic. She expressed shock at the poor management of the city and emphasized the need for immediate intervention.

Mrs. Appiagyei criticized the officials of the KMA for allowing the proliferation of illegal structures, particularly metal containers, which are taking over public spaces and streets in the city. She emphasized the importance of decongesting the city to ensure the free flow of traffic, stating that the current level of congestion in the CBD is intolerable.

In conclusion, the Deputy Majority Leader emphasized the need for action to address the lawlessness and indiscipline in the city, calling for measures to be taken to restore order and ensure a more organized environment for residents and visitors alike.
