Dutch professional footballer Davy Klaassen (born February 21, 1993) competes for both the Netherlands national team and Eredivisie club Ajax as a midfielder.
Klaassen started playing football in the youth divisions of the nearby amateur team HVV de Zebra’s, where he stayed until 2003 before moving on to HSV Wasmeer.
He was accepted into the renowned Ajax Youth Academy a year later. As a member of the Ajax A1 youth team in 2011–12, Klaassen assisted his team in winning the Nike Eredivisie league championship and placing second to Inter Milan in the NextGen Series (the equivalent of the Champions League for under-19 teams), which they lost on penalties (5–3) after a 1–1 tie after extra time.
