Constance Wu is an actress we all came to adore for her portrayal of Rachel Chu in the Romantic-Comedy Drama, Crazy Rich Asians.
However, it might surprise you to hear that the actress almost committed the unthinkable and it was due to one misunderstood tweet.
Back in 2019, her TV show, Fresh off the boat, was renewed for a new season. As everyone else was excited about it, Wu was not. She took Twitter to post “So upset right now that I’m literally crying. Ugh. F—-” and “F—ing hell.”
She even went as far as commenting “Dislike” on the show’s post on Instagram. It was only natural that people will start assuming and speculating. And in the usual social media fashion, she faced backlash.
However, she later clarified that her response was because the show’s renewal meant she would have to give up a project she was passionate about.
Not only was she iced out of the Asian American community, she almost tried to kill herself. Luckily, a friend found her and rushed her to the ER.
