The funeral of Ghanaian football star, Christian Atsu, took place today, with his family, friends, and fans in attendance to pay their last respects. The ceremony was held in the forecourt of the Statehouse Accra.
The family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support and love they had received from fans, friends, and the wider football community. They also thanked the Ghana Football Association and the government of Ghana for their support during this difficult time.

Atsu’s wife and children were spotted arriving at the funeral grounds to pay their last respect to a husband and a father.
The couple got married in 2012 and they had two children.
Among the Dignitaries present at the funeral grounds were the President of Ghana Nana Akuffo-Addo and his vice Dr Bawumia alongside former president John Mahama.
Football players from across the globe were all present.
