The final funeral rite of the late Black Star player Christian Atsu Twasam is ongoing at the forecourt of the Statehouse.
Friends, family, Dignitaries and sympathizers are seen at the funeral grounds paying their last respect to the player. Among these is Former Black Stars defender John Paintsil.

John played alongside Atsu in the Ghanaian national football team, and they were teammates during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament. Atsu made his debut for the national team during the tournament, while Paintsil was a veteran player who had already represented Ghana in two previous AFCON competitions.
John couldn’t hold back his tears after filing past the body of his former teammate. He was spotted crying uncontrollably.
