Because they wished to carry out their own rites, several family members suggested that his body should be buried on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

There was disagreement among his family members on the day his body should be eventually laid to rest, according to a TV3 report, when his mortal remains arrived in Ada.

But, one of the family’s chiefs claimed to have received a command from the State telling him to bury Atsu’s body after the state funeral, once it arrives in Ada.

After much consideration, his casket was finally closed, and a few prayers were recited to conclude the burial procedures.
