Alissa Carlson, a meteorologist for CBS Los Angeles, fainted during a live TV broadcast on Saturday morning. The incident was caught on camera, and Carlson collapsed while leading the 7:00 AM hour with a weather report about incoming rain for Los Angeles. In the video, her eyes roll to the back of her head before she completely collapses.
The two anchors on set did not notice what had happened for a few moments before they cut to commercial. There has been no official update on Carlson’s condition, but CBS Los Angeles Vice President and News Director Mike Dello Stritto stated that Carlson became ill during the broadcast and was taken to the hospital.
Carlson previously experienced a similar episode years ago and was diagnosed with a leaky heart valve. It is unclear if this played any role in Saturday’s incident. KCAL has not yet released a statement regarding the incident. We hope to update you in the coming days.
