According to evidence presented in court, a notorious felon wasted a £50,000 Covid award on drugs.
Louis Maxwell, 35, sought for a Bounceback loan from the government in order to help his tow truck company survive the shutdown.
He spent the majority of the cash on Class A narcotics and only half on a new truck.
Later, Maxwell resold the new car to fund the acquisition of additional drugs.
The 35-year-old had previously made headlines after his photo was released by police and he was ridiculed for resembling Beaker from the Muppets.
After Maxwell gave police a high-speed chase in 2017, the police posted his photograph to their Facebook page.
He was compared by users to Bert from Sesame Street and Beaker from the Muppets.
The attorney for Maxwell, Karl Williams, testified in court today that his client had “the most intense addiction to crack cocaine that I’ve ever come across.”
According to Mr. Williams, the £50,000 government loan was used to purchase narcotics at Cardiff Crown Court.
