Finally, the week comes to a close and we can’t but thank God for a successful week.
This week like any other week has had its own problems and successes in every sphere of our lives and endeavours.
This week, the most dominant news item has been the missing cars from the flagstaff house. Local media reported that the Director of Communications at the flagstaff house, Eugene Arhin had said over 200 cars had been missing from the fleet at the flagstaff house. Traditional media and social media have followed this news for the whole week but as to whether the truth has been ascertained is an issue for discussion later.
Well, we will focus on the entertainment industry and the big stories for the week.
1. National Service wahala
The Minister-designate for tourism and creative arts faced parliament’s Appointment Committee and her delivery was apt and exceptional. However, her approval has been faced with hitches since she indicated that she could not perform National Service as expected by any Ghanaian student after tertiary education.
2. Gallaxy on a ‘Lying’ spree?
Blogger Zionfelix posted on his website a story about the group Galaxy quoting them to have said VGMA is no more credible. This blog post brought about a banter between the artiste, the blogger and their publicist who insisted that the duo never made that statement. There was several back and forth between the publicist of the artistes and Zionfelix over the issue which became very topical.
3. George Quaye finally gets the sack
Head of Communications at Charter house and PRO for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards board, George Quaye lost his position on the board as its spokesperson. His sack comes on the back of his allegation that Gospel Artistes have bribe him for awards. His place has been taken by Mark Okraku Mantey and Nii Aye Tagoe.
4. Wedding bells ringing
Yvonne Nelson disclosed in an interview on BBC that she will be getting married this years after the long wait and her fans could not hide their joy about the news of their star getting married.
5. I am not dead
The fake news websites reported the supposed death of versatile Nana Ama Mcbrown. However, the actress through a post on Instagram assured her fans she is alive and not dead as reported. She showed off her G-Wagon to tell how she is enjoying life and not ready to join her ancestors.
6. Djs will play high life if they were sensible
Lucky Mensah this week said high life is dying in Ghana not because the artistes are lazy but because the Djs are not sensible and knowledgeable to promote songs that truly represents them. He did not leave out event organizers who according to him only invite dancehall and hip-hop artistes for their events and leave out highlife artistes.
7. Coded’s Accident
A half of music trio, 4×4 was involved in an accident this week. Although he survived the accident, his wife said he was feeling some pains at the back of his neck. His accident occured around 1 am on the dawn of Thursday.
