Ayikoi Otoo, a former attorney general, has voiced concerns regarding Kissi Agyebeng, the Special Prosecutor (SP), deeming most of his public statements superfluous.
Otoo is not happy about what he sees as his office looking ordinary due to constant media attention.
In an interview with TownHall Talk on Asaase 99.5, Otoo stated that the Special Prosecutor needs to show that he is committed to combating corruption.
“In my opinion, you can work quietly and produce outcomes. You thus let your performance do the talking. It is not good news for that office that press conferences are being held so frequently. Respect for that office is a must.
“You have to be amazed by the fact that this man is battling corruption. Your office will appear ordinary if you are constantly out there speaking, holding press conferences, and doing other things. Martin Amidu wasn’t doing that, in my opinion,” he remarked.
Therefore, I’m not happy with the talk; there’s too much of it, and I’ve also said things elsewhere that address the important issues. Otoo continued.
