Moses Arhinful Acquah, the nominee for district chief executive for the Awutu Senya West constituency, fell short of the required number of votes to win the position.
Moses Arhinful Acquah, the nominee for DCE, received 19 “Yes” votes and 15 “No” votes out of 35 total votes cast, which was less than two-thirds of the members in attendance.
To decide how to proceed, the Regional Minister, Marigold Assan, and a few influential assembly members are locked in a meeting.
The Regional Minister gave the assembly members advice on what needed to be done. For us to unite and support Awutu Senya West, please consider the growth of that region as well as the various electoral districts when you return to your homes. Let’s get past partisan politics and take the appropriate action. The Central Region has 22 MMDAs, so one shouldn’t present any difficulties. We must make sure that the DCE nominee receives full support because the President is concerned about the development of Awutu Senya West, the Central Regional Minister stated.
To ensure that the assembly operates efficiently, Gizella Tetteh Agbotui, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, who was present at the endorsement ceremony, urged cooperation from both sides of the divide.
“They bear a great deal of responsibility for uniting both sides as an assembly. To make sure that we function as a team, Gizella Tetteh Agbotui stated, “I think there should be a little more cooperation going forward because the former executives failed to do that.”
