The film was featured during the New York Film Festival in 1966, claiming many good reviews and ratings. It also won a number of prestigious awards including the Producers Guild Award for Best Student Film, and the Jesse L Lasky Intercollegiate Award.

Scorsese went on to pursue bigger projects and directed his debut feature-length film which was initially titled I Call First but was later changed to “Who’s That Knocking at My Door.”
