Astroworld deaths: American hip-hop musician Travis Scott is heartbroken following the death of eight people at the Astroworld Festival 2021.
The event, which took place at the NRG Park in Houston, Texas, on Friday, November 5, 2021, also saw several others injured.
According to Samuel Peña, Chief of Houston Fire Department, who confirmed the casualties, it was “a tragic night” for Houston.

Peña said the trouble started around 9 p.m. And according to him, the crowd began to compress toward the front of the stage. Chaos and stampede broke out, and as a result, it caused some panic and started causing some injuries.
On Saturday, November 6, Travis Scott realised a short but touching statement on his social media accounts, sympathising with victims’ families and pledging to support them.

He said he is devastated by the tragedy that occurred on that fateful night. “I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night,” he stated.

Travis Scott indicated that his prayers go out to all the families involved in this tragic event.
“My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival.”
3. Ready to heal and support the victims’ families
He pledged to help and heal the victims’ families. He stated: “Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life. I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need.”

Travis took some space to show appreciation to the fire department and all the parties involved in controlling the crisis. “Thank you to Houston PD, Fire Department and NRG Park for their immediate response and support. Love You All.”
