The National Sports Authority (NSA) Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ashanti Region has addressed the leaked stadium budget of 36,000 Ghana cedis for the upcoming Dreams FC vs Zamalek match.

The match, which is the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup, is set to be held at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, April 28, following a goalless draw in the first leg in Cairo.

During an interview with Peace FM, the Ashanti Region NSA PRO emphasized the complexities and costs involved in preparing the stadium for matches.

This includes maintenance of washrooms, pitch preparation, and other tasks. The PRO expressed disappointment over the leak, suggesting that Dreams FC may be responsible for it.

Despite the leak, the NSA PRO has signaled a willingness to engage in negotiations with Dreams FC. “We are ready to sit down with Dreams FC to negotiate,” the PRO stated.

Financial challenges faced by the NSA were also highlighted, with the PRO mentioning the need to borrow money daily to prepare the facility and the presence of debt on the books.

Furthermore, the PRO addressed the issue of certain areas of the facility being declared free on social media without consulting the NSA. The PRO emphasized that such decisions should not be made unilaterally and should involve consultation with the NSA.
