Thomas Sturges Watson is a former PGA Tour player who now competes on the PGA Tour Champions. Watson was one of the best golfers in the world in the 1970s and 1980s, winning eight major tournaments and topping the PGA Tour money list five times.
Watson is also renowned for his longevity: he led after the second and third rounds of The Open Championship in 2009, despite being nearly sixty years old and 26 years removed from his last major championship victory but lost in a four-hole playoff.
He missed an 8-foot (2.4 m) putt on the 72nd hole with a chance to win the tournament but lost in a playoff against Stewart Cink.
