President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially commissioned a 320-unit housing complex for the Ghana Police Service.
The project, located at the National Police Training School in Tesano, Accra, consists of seven blocks of 112 two-bedroom apartments and thirteen blocks of 208 three-bedroom apartments.
Each block contains 16 apartments and includes additional facilities such as a multipurpose sports facility, a kindergarten school, an officer’s mess, and other residential amenities.
During the inaugural ceremony, President Akufo-Addo expressed the government’s commitment to providing the Ghana Police Service with the necessary resources to carry out their duties effectively.
He emphasized the importance of adequate housing for security personnel, stating that well-housed police officers are more motivated and productive in maintaining law and order.
The President highlighted the significance of the housing project in improving the quality of life for police officers and creating a conducive environment that enhances their operational readiness. He reiterated his administration’s dedication to addressing the housing deficit within the security services and ensuring that every Ghanaian has access to decent housing.
President Akufo-Addo also underscored the government’s holistic approach to enhancing the capacity of the security agencies by providing modern equipment, advanced training, and better working conditions for the police force. He emphasized the importance of creating a robust and effective security system to promote a safer and more secure Ghana.
The President called on the beneficiaries of the housing units to take good care of the facility and pledged to continue working tirelessly to meet the housing needs of all security services. The commissioning of the housing project reflects the government’s commitment to improving the living standards of security personnel and creating a conducive environment for them to carry out their critical duties effectively.
