Longtime basketball servant Zoran Sretenovic died on Thursday, April 28, 2022.
At the club level, he was a crucial member of Jugoplastika’s three consecutive FIBA European Champions Cup wins in 1988-89 and 1989-90, as well as POP 84’s in 1990-91.
The three championship runs in a row were the first in the history of Europe’s premier club continental tournament, presently known as the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
He also mirrored Rigas ASK’s first three championship runs from 1958 to 1960.
In addition, he was four times Yugoslav League champion, won three Cups, and won the German Cup in 1992.
