Popular Ghanaian actress and producer, Yvonne Nelson, has disclosed that policy Think Tank, IMANI Ghana, played a crucial role in the success of the 2015 protest against the erratic power cuts, known as ‘dumsor’.

In a recent tweet, Yvonne Nelson reached out to IMANI Ghana for a potential partnership to organize another protest over the current power outages in the country.

Yvonne Nelson was the key organizer of the massive protest against the John Mahama government in 2015, which saw the participation of several Ghanaian celebrities. The actress expressed her eagerness to collaborate once again with IMANI Ghana, as she believes that the Think Tank’s involvement was instrumental in the success of the previous demonstration.

The recent power outages across the country have led many to call for a load-shedding timetable, despite the government’s denial that ‘dumsor’ is back. Energy experts have also criticized the government for its handling of the situation, with former President John Dramani Mahama’s special aide, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, accusing the government of failing to take responsibility for the power crisis.

In a statement on her platform, Joyce Bawah Mogtari condemned the government for the ongoing power outages, stating that the current administration will go down as the worst in the history of the country.

She highlighted the hardships faced by Ghanaians, including unemployment, corruption, and now, complete darkness, criticizing the government for their alleged lies and propaganda.
