Ace Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson and rapper, Medikal have joined some furious Ghanaians to descend on rapper, Joey B and producer, GuiltyBeatz for what has been described as a failure on their part to defend their country in the course of a radio interview in Nigeria.

Joey B and GuiltyBeatz were on the Beat FM in Lagos, Nigeria to promote the latter’s latest song which features Joey B and Nigerian rapper, Falz. In the course of the interview, the host asked Joey B and Guilty Beatz to respond to some rumours that have been peddled about Ghana’s music industry.

According to the host of the show, the rumours include a disapproval by Ghanaians towards stakeholders of the Nigerian music industry making inroads in Ghana. The host cited the issues that emerged from the recently held Cardi B concert in Accra as an example of Ghana’s purported discouraging attitude towards activities held by Nigerians in Ghana. He further threatened that concerts such as the forthcoming AFRONATION concert may not be staged in Ghana anymore owing to the fear of the perceived sabotage perpetrated by Ghanaians against Nigerians. The host also highlighted the purported presence of animosity in Ghana’s music industry as one of the rumours.

These utterances were contained in an audiovisual snippet of the interview, which was shared by Joey B on Twitter. Joey B tweeted the snippet of the interview with the caption “hm” as an apparent concurrence with the rumours peddled by the radio host.

A section of Ghanaian Twitter users have been responding angrily to the posture Joey B and GuiltyBeatz adopted in the course of the interview. Many of such Ghanaians are of the view that the duo should have rather utilized the opportunity to dismiss the rumours peddled by the show host and also projected the image of Ghana’s arts industry in a positive light.

Ace actress, Yvonne Nelson in her response to the interview stated that the Ghanaian duo should have said something during the interview;

Reigning VGMA Hiplife/Hiphop Artiste of the Year cum Rapper of the Year, Medikal also tweeted that his fellow artiste, Joey B has broken his heart.

He further descended on the show host for claiming that there is no brotherly love in Ghana’s music industry. According to the Sowutuom-based rapper, quarrels do happen between artistes in every country’s music industry as such, it must not be treated as a phenomenon peculiar to only Ghana’s music industry.
