Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has recently revealed a hidden feud between himself and the late actor, Junior Pope, that fans were unaware of.

This revelation came following criticism from fans for not attending Junior Pope’s funeral which took place on May 17.

In an Instagram post made on May 21, Yul Edochie explained that he chose to remain silent about the issue out of respect for the deceased and only decided to address it after the burial. The actor shared that he and Junior Pope used to be close friends until they had a falling out.

“I didn’t want to say anything until his burial. I know many asked why I wasn’t there. Why I haven’t said anything about it since. I took him like a brother and good friend. I was there for him when he needed me,” Yul Edochie stated.

He went on to reveal that Junior Pope had betrayed him multiple times, stating, “But he stabbed me in the back, repeatedly.” Yul Edochie also mentioned that he plans to disclose the full details of their discord for others to learn from.

Junior Pope, aged 43, tragically passed away on April 10 along with four others in a boat accident on the Anam River. His funeral service was held at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish in Ukehe, Enugu State, on May 17, with numerous Nigerian actors and celebrities in attendance to pay their respects.
