Youssou N’Dour is a Senegalese singer, songwriter, musician, composer, businessman, and politician.
He served as Senegal’s Minister of Tourism from April 2012 to September 2013. In Senegal and much of Africa, he was dubbed possibly the most famous singer alive by Rolling Stone.

He is currently married to Aida Coulibaly. They got married in 2006 at a private ceremony. N’Dour declared his intention to run for president in 2012 at the beginning of the year.
However, the validity of the signatures he had gathered to support his campaign led to his disqualification from standing in the election. Wade was beaten by Macky Sall, the opposing candidate, in the second round of voting because of the weight of the support he threw behind Sall.
