After Kwabena Kwakye of Oman FM passed away, Afia Pokuaa, also referred to as Vim Lady, paid tribute to him.
She claimed that the person who mentored her in her early journalistic career was Wofa KK, as Kwabena Kwakye is fondly known.
Furthermore disclosed by Vim Lady was that Wofa KK used to call her and arrange for her to go on official delegation trips.
She claimed that despite not working at the same station, only Kwabena Kwakye and Kwame Sefa Kayi expressed an interest in encouraging her to go on excursions to China and the US, among other places.
“He will say Afia there is a trip here. There is a delegation there come let’s go.. (He and Sefa Kayi) will show you who to see or what to do..” She said.
As a result, she listed a few of the nations she traveled to. Wofa KK was a director of OMAN FM as well as a renowned “Boiling Point” broadcaster.
Throughout his career in the media, Kwabena Kwakye made significant contributions as a panelist on the popular Oman FM morning show “National Agenda.”
Notably, he filled in as the anchor on a few occasions when Fiifi Boafo, the regular host, was not available.
The late Kwabena Kwakye was a prominent political and presidential correspondent for Oman FM and Net2 TV before his time there.
In the past, he has collaborated with prominent individuals such as Mr. Kwabena Agyapong, Professor Kwesi Yankah, Professor Kofi Agyekum of Legon, and Hon. K.T. Hammond, the Trade Minister at the moment.
