Yetunde Price cause of death: What happened to Serena Williams’ sister?

Yetunde Price, a nurse, was also the personal assistant of her sisters, Venus and Serena, and owned a hair salon.

On the night of September 14, 2003, Price was parked outside what subsequently was revealed to be a crack house and chatting to her boyfriend.

Two members of the Southside Compton Crips street gang, who were guarding the house, opened fire on the SUV. Their belief was, that they were defending the crack house from gangland rivals.

She was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital, from a bullet wound in the head.

Robert Edward Maxfield, a member of the Southside Compton Crips street gang pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter on March 22, 2006.

On April 6, 2006, Judge Steven Suzukawa sentenced Maxfield to 15 years in prison with the possibility of parole. In 2018, he was released but he was re-arrested after violating his parole.
