In an engaging event held today at MTN House in Accra titled “Time with Selorm,” MTN Ghana’s outgoing CEO, Selorm Adadevoh, shared insights on the company’s approach to remote work and its impact on employee motivation.
During the event, Mr. Adadevoh discussed the hybrid work system that was implemented across the organization during the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized the flexibility it offered, allowing employees to work two days in the office and three days from home, subject to agreements with their managers.
Mr. Adadevoh emphasized the cost savings associated with working from home, citing the significant expenses incurred by employees commuting to the office every day. He recognized the challenges posed by the changing external environment and emphasized the importance of adapting to changes.
The CEO emphasized how encouraging remote work is for promoting diversity and attaining gender parity in the workforce. He observed that team members were highly motivated and felt a sense of normalcy as a result of the flexibility provided by the hybrid system.
Adadevoh emphasized the increased sense of accountability among staff members and the enhanced business performance when considering the lessons learned from implementing the hybrid work model.
In response to questions about productivity, he highlighted upward trends in the productivity data that was released at the end of the previous year.
Adadevoh praised the managerial skills and approach that developed to successfully manage the difficulties posed by the hybrid system, guaranteeing continuous gains in output. He conveyed his happiness with the initiative’s overall results, which included favorable staff feedback.
