Brittney Griner showed up at a court proceeding close to Moscow, where she entered a plea of guilty to the drug-related allegations brought against her. Griner has been held in Russia since February 17 on the grounds that she had a vape cartridge with hashish oil in her luggage at an airport close to Moscow, according to many reports.
Her attorney, Alexander Boikov, said that Ms. Griner’s suitcase included cartridges due to negligence. She admitted responsibility, stating that she had accidentally carried illegal narcotics because she was rushing to pack, according to her attorney.
If found guilty, she may spend up to ten years in prison. According to some sources President Joe Biden had assured her wife that his administration would do all they can to bring her to the United States.
