Wiz Khalifa charged with illegal drug possession in Romania following festival performance

US rapper Wiz Khalifa was recently arrested in Romania for illegal drug possession after his performance at the Beach, Please! Festival at the Black Sea Coast. The 36-year-old rapper was found to be in possession of more than 18 grams of cannabis and was seen consuming the substance on stage.

In Romania, cannabis is considered a “risk drug” and possession of it can lead to up to ten years in prison. Videos of Wiz Khalifa smoking on stage have been circulating on social media, along with footage of him being escorted by police from the venue.

After the incident, Wiz Khalifa took to social media to address the situation, stating, “I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time.”

Although Khalifa was charged, he was not kept in police custody. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Interestingly, in recent months, Wiz Khalifa revealed in interviews that he smokes up to 30 blunts a day and admitted to attending his son’s parent-teacher conferences while under the influence of marijuana.

This incident has sparked discussions about drug use in the entertainment industry and the legal consequences artists may face when performing in countries with strict drug laws.
