Winners of the 2023 Edition of Junior Graphic essay competition presented with their prizes

At a ceremony held at the Ghana Library Authority in Accra, the winners of the Junior Graphic essay competition (JGNEC) for 2023 were given their awards.

Griffith Nana Osafo Brako, the competition’s overall winner from St. Dominic Roman Catholic School in Akwatia, Eastern Region, received a certificate, GH¢3,000 in cash, a tablet, and an all-expenses-paid trip to the US.

Michelle Naa Ansaah Addy, a former pupil of Southbridge Montessori School in Accra, took home a tablet, GH¢1,500 in cash, and a certificate for placing second.

Myron Sean Buertey Adjor, a former student of Stanward School Limited, was the third prize winner. He also received a certificate, a tablet, and GH¢1,000 in cash.

The competition’s 2024 edition, with the theme “Impacting society with our imaginative abilities: Role of the child,” was unveiled at the same event.

The competition’s goal is to help students all around the nation become better writers and readers.

The launching ceremony was conducted by Franklin Sowa, the acting Managing Director (MD) of the Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL), Hannah Acheampong Amoah, Editor of the Junior Graphic, and Stephen Kwaku Owusu, Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) responsible for Management Service.
