William Dodson Broyles Jr. is an American screenwriter who was born on October 8, 1944. His writing credits include the television series China Beach as well as the movies Apollo 13, Cast Away, Entrapment, and others.
Broyles was the son of Elizabeth (née Bills) and William Dodson Broyles and was born in the city of Houston in the state of Texas. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Rice University in 1966. He was born in Baytown, Texas, and went to Robert E. Lee High School and Rice University for his education.
