William “Wil” Lutz, a placekicker for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League, was born on July 7, 1994.
Lutz tied his career high of four field goals against the New York Giants in Week 4 on September 30, 2018. Lutz went on to win the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month award for September 2018 after making 10 of 11 field goals and 11 of 12 extra-point attempts.
On March 13, 2019, Lutz and the Saints agreed to a five-year contract extension.
In Week 2 of the 2020 season, against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football, Lutz made a 31-yard field goal to give his team its first points ever at Allegiant Stadium and in the history of the NFL in Las Vegas.
Lutz went 3 for 3 on field goal attempts and 3 for 3 on extra point attempts for a total of 12 points in the 30-27 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. Lutz was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week on October 14, 2020, thanks to his performance in Week 5.
