The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has revealed that late Nollywood actor Junior Pope showed signs of life when he was rushed to the hospital.
Despite being underwater for over two hours, slight movements in the actor’s fingers gave hope to those present that he had survived the incident. This led to the Guild’s decision to publicly announce that Junior Pope had miraculously survived.
However, despite the efforts of health professionals to resuscitate him, Junior Pope passed away on Wednesday evening, as confirmed by the AGN President in a social media post. The post expressed sadness over the loss, stating that two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him, but to no avail.
Junior Pope tragically died while filming in Asaba, the capital of Delta State in Nigeria. According to Vanguard Nigeria, he passed away during a boat trip that ended in tragedy when the boat capsized, leading to his drowning along with two other unidentified actors.

He went on to act in over 150 Nollywood movies, portraying various characters such as a bodyguard, palace attendant, criminal, villain, and more.
