American Twitch streamer Hasan Doğan Piker, popularly known as HasanAbi, has received a ban from the live streaming gaming platform.
On Monday, December 13, 2021, the world’s leading streaming platform for gamers handed HasanAbi a ban for violating their policies. Hasan announced his ban on his official Twitter page.
Why did Twitch ban Hasan Piker?
According to Hasan, he was banned for using the racial slur ‘cracker’. “Yes, and it is for exactly what you think it is. Anti-white racism for using the term “cracker,” he responded to a tweet announcing his ban from the platform.
He tweeted again defending his actions saying, ‘I’ve probably never used (the slur) before this weekend.’
“This is a cracker btw. Since many people wonder who’s the type of person that is offended by the word (a word I’ve probably never used before this weekend) it’s mfs like this,” he tweeted.
What does ‘cracker’ slur mean?
