Why Stonebwoy graced the TGMA stage with his back facing the crowd

Stonebwoy recently turned heads at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) with a unique stage presence that left the audience in awe.

Instead of facing the crowd directly, he made a deliberate entrance with his back to them, a move that carried deep cultural significance rooted in Anlo heritage.

The act of entering the stage with his back to the audience holds historical meaning within the Anlo culture. It hearkens back to a significant event in their history when the Ewe people escaped the oppressive rule of King Agorkorli in Notse. To avoid detection by their enemies, they walked backward, ensuring their footsteps couldn’t be traced.
