The Super Bowl is the National Football League’s annual championship game.

It has replaced the NFL Championship Game as the last game of every NFL season since 1966. The game has been played on the first Sunday in February since 2004.

Why is Super Bowl being moved to Dallas?

Super Bowl LVI which was slated for Sunday, February 13, at the spanking new SoFi Stadium outside of Los Angeles will have a new venue in case Covid becomes a hindrance to the competition.

In order to be prepared in case state COVID limitations prevent Super Bowl LVI from being held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, the NFL is looking into the availability of other emergency sites, including Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy confirmed it in a release stating that,

“We intend to play Super Bowl LVI as scheduled on Sunday, February 13 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles,” McCarthy told WFAA.

“As part of our routine contingency planning process for all regular and playoff games, we have contacted numerous clubs to inquire about stadium availability in the event that the Super Bowl cannot be played as scheduled due to weather-related concerns or unanticipated circumstances.”.
