He was president of NBC Universal Television Group since May 2004, rising to CEO in December 2005. He soon progressed through the ranks at NBC, where he helped make Joe Rogan and Donald Trump national names by greenlighting series like Fear Factor and The Apprentice.
Zucker departed to take lead CNN in 2013, improving the cable news network’s ratings but rapidly clashing with Trump.
He recently resigned after getting himself in a sexual scandal.
Why is Jeff Zucker leaving CNN?
Jeff Zucker resigned from the network and media empire, claiming he neglected to mention a romantic involvement with another CNN staffer.
Zucker was supposed to leave CNN in March last year after AT&T‘s media company and Discovery merged, but his resignation on February 2, 2022, is effective immediately.
Who will replace Jeff Zucker?
Allison Gollust, a CNN executive and Jeff Zucker’s senior deputy, has emerged as the main internal candidate to take over the CNN network after Zucker’s scandal.
